I’m a freelance writer with a background in news.

I’ve written for newspapers, magazines, bilingual bi-weeklies, travel blogs, arts and entertainment websites, a corporate news site and myriad other media outlets. By day, you’ll find me working in public relations and social media. By night, you’ll find me writing about topics ranging from fitness to feminism. And feelings. Sometimes Rihanna.

Along my path as a reporter I gained experience as an editor and translator, dabbling a little bit in photography, videography and back-end website support, because why not? After managing the web and social media presence for a daily newspaper, I left news for a job in social media management and public relations at a non-profit. After I did that, I left for a job at an advertising agency. I spent the first leg of my career sifting through story pitches, and I’m now the mind behind the pitches.

I grew up in the Chicago suburbs and have since lived in Iowa, Spain and Washington, D.C. I now live in Milwaukee and spend so much time extolling the virtues of this city that you’d think I’m #sponsored. (I am not.) It’s really great here; you should visit.
