I’m a 20-something Midwesterner living in Sevilla, Spain to work as an English teaching assistant in a high school. This blog is my narcissistic attempt to chronicle my return to the Iberian Peninsula.

You can learn more about my professional background here.

This site also includes archives from 2010, when I spent a semester studying in Sevilla.  These posts were originally published on Iowa Girls Gone Wild, a now-defunct study abroad blog.

I left Spain in June 2012 but the archive of this blog remains published. You can learn more about what I’m up to now here or here, or you can read my pretty lame Tumblr.

  1. Um, hi there. 🙂

I don’t remember how I stumbled upon your blog, but I’m sure glad I got there. I hope emailing doesn’t come across as super-weird and nosy (okay, it totally was ’cause I, like, read it all.) I keep up with a blog, too, and if anyone were to stop by my pages, I’d want to know. So, I’m doing the same. I. was. here.

It was fun reading about your adventure and I enjoyed the writing style and especially the willingness to be a total geek, and at times awkward 21 year old (wait, that was waaay too many “ands” – forgive me.)

I’m a Language and Culture Assistant next year, too. Can you believe it’s only a month-“ish” away??? I’ll be in Galicia, specifically, Santiago de Compostela. I haven’t received my visa back, yet. Still waiting.

It’s my understanding that you like churros. If I happen to be at the same place you are on the same day, I’d sure like to enjoy your company and eat some churros. It’s be fun.

    Take care,

found it engaging and refreshing. I like reading work
from other people that inspires me to improve.
    Keep it up!
